Tho animal report of tho Feliding Chamber of Commerce has been published. it congranlates the town on being made a stopping-place for the Mam Trunk express, which showed that district claims were recognised. The report further .states that trade generally in this district did not appreciably suffer during the year. The drop in wool values and the dry period in summer had an effect locally. The opening of the through lino to -Auckland and the Government acquisition of tho Manawatn lino must prove important factors- in the advancement of the commercial and producing interests of this coast and the interior. An endeavour is to bo made to make Feilding railway station a trucking depot Fciiding railway jeturns show that sheep and lambs exported increased by 3-1,005 over tho previous year, tho total this year being 144,363. Feilding held pride of place regarding export of pigs, the number being SOSO. The report, acknowledges the great services to the district of Mr F. Y. Lethbridge, M.P. for Orotia, and legrets his early retirement from politics after twelve years’ continuous representation.
