The “ Standard,” commenting on the reception of Elarl Dudley, now Gover-nor-General of Australia, says:— “ There are difficult questions ahead, especially that of lack of population, which needs an immediate, urgent remedy. Fortunately, he may rely on the capacity and determination of the able, devoted men in office under him, and the spirit and energy of the Australian people.”
