A new kind o>f lift and force pump, of great simplicity, Is at work at the workshop of P. Elite and Son, No. 6, Ebdr street. It seems to be of an unique and interesting design, combining cheapness and efficiency, lifting and forcing water through a half-inch orifice at tho rate of 1000 feet per minute, although the pump takes up less than half a cubic foot of space. ‘ Mr Ellis invites, by advertisement in our columns, engineers and other people interested, to see the pump at work and examind its construction.
At Palmerston North to-morrow Harry Palmer will hold his usual market sale, for which entries are advertised. Puriri mineral water is advertised as a cure for rheumatism and indigestion.
