PAT’S RECORD COUNT.
The San Francisco '■'Argonaut' tells a good storv of a young doctor who, after a hilarious night with some friends, went in the morning to go his rounds of a hospital. A stalwart young Irishman claimed his attention. The pulse is normal, Pat, but let examine the lung action a moment, replied the doctor, kneeling beside the cot, and laying his head on the Irishman’s chest. "Now let me hear you talk," he continued, closing his eyes and listening attentively for sounds of pulmonary congestion. A moment of silence. "What will X ho sayiiT, doctor," finally asked tho patient. “Oh, say anything; count one, two, three, and up that way," murmured - tho physician, drowsily. "Wan, two, three, fure, five, six.” When tho young doctor, with a start, opened his eyes, Pat was counting weakily, "tin-hundred and sixty-nine, tin-hun-dred and sivinty, tin-hundred an’sivinty wan.”
