YOUTHFUL BURGLARS

SENT TO BTJRNHAM SCHOOL. PBESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, April 14. A band of five boys, their ages ranging from ten to fifteen, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a round of burglaries, they having entered fifteen premises and stolen a number of small articles and a quantity of jewellery. Their last exploit was on Sunday, when they entered a jeweller's shop and stole jewellery valued at XSO, bringing the total value of their depradations to .£llO. Most of the stolen articles were recovered when the gang was arrested, but a bag of opals, which a boy, to whom they had teen allotted, threw away as; valueless, is missing. Chief-Detective Marsack stated that the boys roamed the streets day and night, and were quite beyond parental control. All were committed to the Burnham Industrial School.
