I*ast evening the choir of St. Andrew** PresbrteHan Church, under the direction of Mr F. W. Kbwiey (the church organist) gave a very good rendering of IStainer's "cantata," or "meditation,' ai it ifi alternatively called, "The Crucifixion." The choir was uardly sufficient in mimbsrH to adequately reproduce the fine harmonics which Stainer intended to convey to the listener; but there vrag a sympathy noticeable which made th« work, from a musical point of view, interesting and enjoyable.
