PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOLS

ANNUAL EXAMINATION. Tho annual examination of the Sabbath schools of the Presbyterian Church of Now .Zealand will be hold on Friday, July 10th. The subjects of examination will he the International Scripture Lessons for the second quarter of this year, and the Shorter Catechism. Tho pupils will bo divided into five classes, according to age, tho lowest division being for those under ten years of ago, and the highest for those ever eighteen. Papers gaining over 80 per cent, of the possible marks will be reckoned as first-class, those gaining over 60 per cent, as second-class, and those gaining over 'lO per cent, as third-class. A week later an essay will be set for middlo and senior scholars on "Tho Life of tho -Apostle Peter." A gold medal will be awarded to the pupil gaining tho highest marks in the Dominion in all subjects, and silver •medals will be given to the highest candidate in each division. Two banners are also awarded to the schools showing tho best, results at the examination, ono for schools with fifty pupils and .oyer on the roll, and one for schools With less than fifty.
