PREMATURE FIRING OF A BIG GUN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, April 11. The authorities are inquiring regarding the premature firing of a 9.2 gun at the Heads. While the huge gun was automatically rising from the pit it suddenly fired.

Fortunately, the muzzle was clear of the pit wails, or the shell would have blown everybody in the pit to fragments.

A gunner was severely out by the flying sighter. ,
