FIRES
A BLAZE AT KILBIE^IE. At 12.26 on Saturday afternoon the Fire Brigade was called to Kilbirnie. A house of nine rooms, in Crawford road, owned and occupied by Air 1). O’Donnell, builder, was on fire. Tho liouso was totally destroyed. -Most of tho furniture was also burnt. The adjoining house, tho property of Air J. Girdicstono, was considerably damaged. Tho contents did not suffer, having boon removed. There was a strong wind blowing at the time, and tho brigade had a very difficult task to save tho second house, "although there was a good pressure of water. Tho Kilhirnio Brigade also turned out promptly, and put in some useful work. Mr O’Donnell’s house was insured in tho Commercial Union for £7OO and tiho contents in tho South British office for £350.
