Ths D.I.C. furnishing department is making a special display of hangings. Pringle's, Lambton quay, are showing special bridge scorers. Harcpurt and Co. will sell by auction the Palfrey estate. Upper Lift, at thi\r rooms, 46, Lambton quay, on Fridiv January 24th, at 2.30 p.ml The Palfrey estate is nineteen miles from Well'n *- ton, adjoining the township of the Upp?r Hntt, part of the block having he?i taken for railway purposes. Eightv acres hare been dedicated streets, and eight miles of reading have been formed. Tne auctioneers state that some cigVv houses have already been erected at t. cost of from 2240,000 to .£50.000, and H i= now proposed to form the district into a borough. The Education Department is about to erect the new Tipper Hutt eohools on the estate. Terms—cash deposit of 10 per cent, at the time of sale, a further 5 per cent, within three months, and the balance at per cent, interest. Mr C. Uenaie, of the Trentham Hotel, will direct, or drive, intending purchasers over the estate.
