A NEW BUILDING.
A s : s-story brick building has just beer designed by Mr J. M. Dawson, architect, to be erected in Lower Cuba street for Messrs Divan Bros. The building, which is to be utilised as a private bote], will contain eighty bedrooms. besides the requisite number of smoking, drawing, and dining rooms necessary for a first-olass hotel. A (ga.fdeu lojf will occupy th)e front portion of the top story, and tne kitchen is to be situated behind. The dining-room, which is to be 40 feet long and , 32 feet wide, will be attractively finished in “stuccolin” work. A complete set of electric bells and telephone ttos is to be installed, and when finished the building will bo fitted With. fho latest convenienoes throughout. Lock-up, fire-preof shops are to occupy apace on each side of the main entrance The front elevation is to bo finished in stucco and pressed brick, and relieved by cornices, pilasters, etc. The principal rooms are to be provided with ferro-cojiclrete balconettes.
