AUCKLAND, December 4. Sir Joseph Ward left for the South by the this afternoon, ‘Thi« morning Sir Joseph proceed-xl to the Veterans' Home, driving out in a motor car with Mr Alf. Kidd. M.P. The veterans wore briefly addressed by the Premier, who afterwards made a call at 0 v-rnment House. Sir Joseph Ward, in his capacity as' Postmaster-General, to-dny approved th© purchase of a portion of Philson’s property. Wellesley and Lome streets, for a ?7ite for the new branch i>ost office. The area selected will havo a frontage of 50ft to Wellesley street.
