TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3. IN DIVORCE (Boforo his Honor Mr Justice Button.) TOLLEY v. TOLLEY. Mr Lualc, of Napier, appeared for tho petitioner, Mary Tolley, who sought a dissolution of her marriage with Edward Charles Albert Tolley, who was by trade a butcher. Tho respondent did not appear. Tho evidence called on behalf of tho petitioner was to tho effect that tho marriage took place in November, 1889, and tho husband, and wife lived in various places in New Zealand. It was stated in evidence that he passed himself off in Melbourne as a single man, and kept company with a young unmarried woman. When ho returned to Now Zealand in 1902 this woman followed him, and the result was a separation of tho husband from the wife. The petitioner in 1906 raw an advertisement in an Australian paper announcing that her husband had bigaraously married another woman—not the person who had followed him to New Zealand. Respondent came back to Christchurch during tho present year, and when tho petitioner saw him ho admitted tho bigamous marriage. ■ His Honor granted tho dreefee nisi, to ho made absolute in throe months; petitioner to have the custody "of her children. Costs against respondent on tho lowest scale. , CORLEY v. CORLEY. ' Mr Dovine applied that the decree nisi granted in tho suit of Annie Elizabeth Corley v. Ernest Augustus Corley should be made absolute. His Honor granted tho order prayed. Petitioner to have custody of her children. IN CHAMBERS. His Honor Mr Justice Button, sitting in Chambers yesterday, heard argument in. the ease of a summons directed to the District Land Registrar to substantiate has grounds for refusing to register a transfer under the Land Transfer Act of 1885, from C. G. Knight and others to Fanny Board and others. At the conclusion.of the argument his Honor reserved judgment. Dr Knight appeared in support of the summons, and Mr-Pauling was counsel for the .District Land Registrar. On the application of Mr J. L. Stout (Findlay, Dalziel and Co.) letters of administration were granted in respect of the estate of the late Gilbert Hamilton Umprioville.' MAGISTRATES’ JURISDICTION. (Before Mr IV. G. POLICE CASES. i For drunkenness, Alfred Burnacle was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. _ ■ ■ Annie Morolyno was fined 40s, in default ebven days’ imprisonment, for loitering and importuning .in Cambridge terrace. i _ Harry Mogridge pleaded guilty to a charge that on November, 25th,' at Wellington, he did fraudulently convert a sura of £2 2s, the property of ins employer, George Edwards, to lis own use, and was remanded for sentence till Thursday. Accused, a recent arrival from Homo, was employe! by -informant to deliver milk and collect accounts, and bo kept some of tho money ho received.

Moreton, £l3 7s 9d (£1 10s Od).

JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. James Bradshaw was ordered to pay £l3 4s od to Frederick William Moore on or before December X7th. Archibald 0. Stewart was ordered to pay John Paterson the sum of £2O 8s 2d on or before December 17fch. No order was "made, in the case of the Minister of Railways v. Thomas Levy (Mr Dunn) sued George Henry Geodall (Mr P. W. Jackson) for £59, wages alleged'to be duo. The ease was a very involved one, and occupied nearly the whole day. Judgment was given for plantiff for £lB, and costs £2 6s. A HEAL* IN LAND.

Tlie caso in which John Richard Wallace, farmer, Kaikoura, sued Ohdrles William Hodgson, 1 farmer, living near Dannevirke, for the return of £SO, deposit on the purchase money on the latter’s , farm, was concluded, and judgment was reserved. Mr C. P. Skorrett, K.C., with him Mr Fair, appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Myers for defendant.

At the Mount Cook Police Court two offenders, who appeared for the third time on charges of drdnkonncss, John McGowan and Joseph Lee, were fined 40s or in default fourteen days’ imprisonment, George William Jackson, who made his second appearance on a charge of inebriety, was, mulcted 20s or in default seven days’ imprisonment. One first offender, charged with a similar offence, was convicted and discharged. Mr J. Ooogan, J.P., occupied the Bench.
