"When the hearing of the Drnoe perjury case was resumed yesterday before Mr Plowdon, Police Magistrate, at derkenwell, a photographer named Naylor was called. He identified phot> graphs of Thomas Charles Draco as ones he had taken in 1861 and 1862. Naylor said Druce wore a false beawj. Ho saw Druce in the Balter street Bazaar in 1865.
A gardener who was employed by the fifth Duke deposed that Draco’s photograph did not resemble the Duke. George Philips, a draper, testified that he saw Druce in the Bazaar between 1865 and 1868, or later. It was common knowledge, witness said, m Baber street, after tho mock funeral, that Dnice was alive and could he seen walking about and entering tie Bazaar.
Robert Caldwell, the witness from New York who gave evidence a week ago, - was recalled. In course of cross-examination he said he was unaware that there was a tombstone hi "the Londonderry cemetery to the memory of his daughter Caroline. If there was, it must have been erected by his brother William, since Caroline was buried at Aghavea, in county Fermanagh. If the High gate grave wore opened, and the coffin showed an inscription to the effect that Druce was buried there, it would not affect his testimony, as tho inscription must have been placed on since the coffin was deposited there.
Replying to Mr Plowdon, Caldwell said that hia brother, having assumed hia (witness’s) name, was obliged to live up to it. This, he supposed, led to the placing of the tombstone in the Londonderry cemetery.
