REARRANGEMENT OF STAFF. ' ME H. E. NICHOLES ACTINGSECRETARY. The rearrangement o£ the staff of the Wellington Harbour Board, consequent upon the retirement of Mr W. Ferguson from the position of secretary, engineer, and treasurer, has been under consideration for some weeks past. The following appointments have now been made: Mr H. E. Nioholls, accountant and cashier, becomes acting-secretary and chief executive officer; salary -£650. . , , Mr E. D. Cachemaille, assistant engineer, becomes acting-engineer; salary £6OO. . , Mr V. L. Cachemaille, assistant secretary, becomes acting treasurer; salary £3OO. • . Mr J. E. Gamble, assistant accountant and cashier, becomes acting accountant and cashier; salary £3OO. Mr H. G. Turner, temporary draughtsman, transferred to permanent staff. . The above are acting appointments for one vear from January let, 3908. After that period they' will be terminable by three months' notice. Mr Nioholls is a native of Wiltshire, where ho was horn in 1857. He arrived in New Zealand in 1873, and joined the staff of Messrs Jackson _ and Graham, lessees of the Queen’s Wharf. In 3876, when the City Council took control of the wharf, he became ’assistant wharf accountant, In 1881 he became accountant, and in 1885 he succeeded to the position which he at present occupies,
