It establishes the principle of a collective, bargain. Mr Barnes, secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, is very disappointed at the non-recognition of the union. WIDESPREAD SATISFACTION. AMALGAMATED SOCIETY’S ADVICE TO MEMBERS. (Received November 8, 9.20 p.m.) LONDON, November 8. There is widespread satisfaction at tho settlement of tho railway dispute, and this feeling han already produced a sharp advance, in the price of shares in some of the railway companies. Tho Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants has resolved to accept the terms of the agreement as an honourable settlement, and to urge its members to give tho machinery provided under the agreement a fair trial.
