NEW OCEAN LINERS
RACE FOR SIZE.' BIG STEAMER FOR COLONIAL TRADE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, September 27. Ha/rland and Wolff are to build a Hamburg-American liner larger than the Lusitania. Messrs John Brown and Co., jf the Clydebank Works, will supply the engines. The Royal Mail Company’s steamer Asturias, of 12,500 tons, was launched at Messrs Harland and Wolff’s yards, Belfast. She sails for Australia in January. The White Star Company recently placed an order with Harland and Wolff for a steamer 840 ft long, or 50£t longer than the Lusitania.
