AIOTHER GOOSE. Air J. C. Williamson's pantomime, “Mother Goose," received a full measure of patronage at the Opera House last evening, and long before the curtain, rose all seating accommodation was taken. A feature of the performance was a “scena" and grand tableau allegorical of the presentation by Britannia of the new title ‘'Dommion ,> to Zeaiandia. The opening incident was the appearance of a tiny herald who sounded a fanfare and spoke the following lines:— "Attention! The spirit of an Empire groat approaches upon a high affair of State. She seeks an audience, so I will bring her hither. Give her good heod. God tave the King." Tho tableau depicted Britannia on her throne banding ZeaJa ndia. the name “Dominion." AUfis Olive Godwin sang a new national song, “Dominion of Beauty," written for the occasion by Mr Albert Goldie, and set to music by Air Geo. IL ELaJL

Sir Joseph Ward, who wos accompanied by Lady Ward and party, was insistently called upon to make a speech at tho termination of the Last veree of the song- Sir Joseph was vociferously cheered when he rose to make a brief speech. He expresed his admiration of tho pantomime and tho tableau. Sir Jceeph congratulated tho composer of tho “Dominion of Beauty," and complimented Miss Olive Godwin on her singing of the song. Tho pantomime that evening would add pleasant memories to the conclusion of a very glorious day. The characters in the allegorical eema were the Spirit of Empire by Little May Bail'd, the Herald by Little Alarjory Rusfioll, Zealandia by Little Olive Stowell, and Britannia by Miss Lena Ericeon. The pantomime abounds with riotous mirth, for much of which are responsible Air Horry Phydora fas Mother Gooee, Mr G. Victor Loydall as a Scotch Laird, and Air Harry Shine as Jock. Aliss Babell© Morgan's great vocal success, “Moon Dear," was doubly recalled. The beautiful swing song is made singularly effective by tho clever manipulation of illuminated swings. “Mother > Goose" will be repeated to-night, when his Excellency the Governor and party will bo present.

THEATRE ROYAH. The Theatre Royal was filled to overflowing -hifit evening, iind a very popular programme was received with marked appreciation. . Mr Poet Mason 'k American ballads and the remarkably clever juggling by Jarvis, and Martyn ore among the principal attractions. The programme will be repeated to-night. MADAME ALBANI. FAREWELL CONCERT. Madame Albani, one of the most famoos vocalists who has ever visited the Dominion, will make her last appearance at the Town Hall this evening. As ifl well known, she is supported by a company of artists whose musical capabilities render them almost above criticism. It is indeed safe to say that a finer concert company hae never been heard south of tho equator. The programme announced for to-night is generally “pop alar” in character —that is to say, it will include nothing that is severely classical, but will be melodious and artistically interesting. In fine, it will be a "ballad concert," and a "Feast of Folk Song.' ▼
