The Hutt Valiev Musical Society had but a small attendance, owing to wet weather, at its 6rst concert in the Drill Hall, Lower Hutt, last evening. The society’s rendering of Mendelssohn’s “Hymn of Praise” was much appreciated The soloists were Mcsdames Watson, Maud, and Kohu, and Mr Searle. Mr R. Wood had charge of the orchestra, Mrs B. B. Jones was pianiste, and Mr J. Salkeld conductor.
