Tho conference of delegates to the Waterside Workers’ Federation was it-■ surned yesterday morning, Mr l. aiu d Pl Mr d T.“ - Smith (Wellington) moved: "That the Government bo requested to further amend the Harbours Act in the direction of requiring tho various Df 1 *" hour Boards of tho colony to provide an ambulance, bandages and other requisites of first aid, so that there may ho no delay in aiding ami securing the removal of workers injured on or about the wharves under their control. Mr^McLaron moved "That this conference sends its warmest greetings and exprwssioii of good-will to tho Australian Waterside Workers* A.*?ociation, and that their president (Mr W. M. Hughes. M.L.A.) be congratulated on his very able services rendered at the Marino Conference recently hold in London, and that similar fraternal greetings be sent to the International Transport Workers’ Federation/’—The motion was carried unanimously. Tho conference then wont into committee to consider tho organisation of the federation and tho election of officers.
