A strike of naval reservists, on account of alterations in the scale of pensions, has paralysed the shipping in I'rench ports. THE COBAR STRIKE. WORK TO BE RESUMED. (Received June 1, 7.56 p.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 1. A mass meeting of the strikers at Cobar voted for acceptance of the owners’ ultimatum. All tlio minors will resume work on Monday under an agreement having two years’ currency. UNEMPLOYED AT SAN FRANCISCO NEW YORK, May 31. There are 40,000 unemployed in San Francisco, owing to capital for reconstruction purposes not being forthcoming. THE RAND MINERS. ■ PRETORIA, May 31. The engine-drivers on the Rand have taken a ballot. The result is averse to a strike.
