' SENIOR GAMES. The first round of tho championship matches was continued on Saturday afternoon. The heavy rain which foil during the afternoon considerably affected tho quality of tho play, although a great improvement on that of the opening matches was shown. KAROEI (9) v. VIVIAN (2). Karori again played a very good game, and showed their superiority early in the game. In tho first spell every ono of tho black’s forwards—Putnam, Davis, Willis, Horrox, ‘Murphy—round the goal. In the second spell Vivian livened up a little, and scored 2 goals to which Karori responded with 4. During tho game a Karori player was ordered off the field by tho referee for alleged foul piny. » UNITED (3) v. WELLINGTON (2). This was a most exciting match, and tho exhibition of form given by both sides w T ere excellent. The first spell; although strenuously contested, ended without score. In the second spell Elliott scored two goals for United, and soon after Paterson and Duncan found the not for Wellington. The game grew’ intensely exciting, and tho enthusiasm of the spectators was almost boundless as Elliott, with a beautiful shot, boat the Wellington custodian for the third time. The blue and whites made desperate efforts to draw’ level, but did not succeed. junioiTmltches. At Miramar Y.M.C.A. (4) defeated Thorudon (1). United (5) beat St. Patrick’s College Old Boys (l). At Day’s Bay, Victoria College (4) beat Karori (I). Vivian (6) beat Weliugton (3). THIRD GRADE. At Miramar, Victoria College B (2) boat United (1) after a very keenlycontested game. Wellington (6) beat Vivian (3). LADIES 7 *MATCHES. At Dav’s Bay, Kiwi juniors (2) boat St. John’s (0). The Thorndon-Terraco (third-class) match was abandoned.
