POLICE COURT

The business of the Police Court was disposed of hy Dr McArthur in* a few minutes yesterday morning. A couple of first-offending drunks wore convicted and discharged, and for similar lapses Philip Sharkey and John McKio, second offenders, were let off in like manner. James O'Brien, alias Donald Michael Kennedy, was fined 20s, in default seven days' imprisonment. Bert Lovelock, with a number of aliases, on a charge of obtaining a sum of 5s at Palmerston North by means of false pretences, was remanded to appear at Palmerston on the 31st inst.
