An irresistible vein of humour runs unbroken through “The Man From Mexico presented by tho Willougby and Ward Comedy Company at the Opera House. Last evening the audience laughed heart ily at the mirth provoking -predicament# which' tho festive Benjamin Fitzhugh was unable to escape from. . Messrs Willoughby and Ward have arranged l to present two farewell performancespf “The Man From Mexico” at the Opera -House to-duy, starting at 2 p.m. with a special holida ymatiuco, when tho successful farce comedy -will bo given in its entirety, and in the evening I tho theatre will no doubt hold a holidaycrowd to witness the final performance To-morrow and on Monday evenings the management premise the first pro duction of tho very latest farce comedy success, entitled "Tho Talk of tho Town, * with which 1 tho company made such a decided hit in Melbourne and Sydney. The box plan for this evening’s performance will ho at. Abel’s all day to-day. For this afternoon matinee prices will prevail, when all children will be ad mitted Ito any part of tho house for one shilling, whilst adults will bo admitted at popular rates THEATRE ROYAL. The programme submitted by Fullers' Vaudeville Company at the Theatre Royal was responsible for a large audience last evening. BIOGRAPH AT THE TOWN HALL. At tho Town Hall this afternoon and evening the biograph entertainment, including'' the grand opera "Faust," wilt commence a season in Wellington. Tho "Faust" series of coloured films is spoken of very .highly, and the "Sherlock Holmes" pictures also have attracted much notice. Another interesting series is that depicting “Marvellous New Zealand," while the programme contains among other Items of more than passing interest. Vocal items will be contributed bv Miss Louie Fisher and Mr Roland F- Reis. , The lecture given by Mr Poynton on Wednesday evening was under the auspices of tho Wellington Mental Science Society. Mr-James Godber, who pro sided,’is the prreeidenk of this society. At the third concert of the season t<. he given by the 'Wellington Musical Union on Tuesday next at the Town Hall, Mrs-Gowor-Bures is to sing Liza Lehman’s "Song Cycle." "The Life of a Rose ’’ and "VillaneUe." Mendelssohn’» "Italian Symphony" trill bo rendered by the orchestra, and a musical treat is pro mised.’
