DEFENCE
SCHEME LAID BEFORE MR. DEAKXN. MELBOURNE, November 8. The Victorian branch of the National Defence League has laid an important scheme before Mr Deakin, the Federal Premier. Tho chief proposal is to establish a volunteer reserve force. Mr Deakin intimated that the lines advocated by the league were those upon which the Commonwealth would proceed.
