THREE HUNDRED LOOTERS SHOT. (Received August 26, 4.24 p.m.) VALPARAISO, August 25. The latest estimate is that four thousand persons perished by the recent catastrophe. Two thousand bodies have been recovered, and of that number fifteen hundred have been buried. An epidemic is feared, owing to the large number of bodies that remain un buried. A total of three hundred looters have been shot. Further earthquakes were felt throughout Chili on Thursday.
