Tlio recent Anglican Church elections deprived the Synod of the diocese of Wellington of the presence of one of tho oldest members of the Synod, Mr W. H. Quick, chancellor of tho diocese. When the parochial district of Waitotara failed lust year to elect a reprei sentative, the Standing Committee chose Mr Quick to sit as synodsman for that district; but when Waitotara was subsequently amalgamated with Aramoho, and a ■ new parochial district was thereby constituted, the seat was rendered vacant, and a fresh writ issued. "The new district,” remarked Bishop Wallis last night, "very rightly returned ono of its own residents, whom wo are glad to welcome, but Mr Quick lost hia seat.
