Richmond. borough engineer. wrote in reference to Garden road. Ho was unable to recommend the Council to take over the road until the maintenance period agreed upon had elapsed, and certain minor wuiks been carried oul. He was satisfied that Ihe trustees of the Pburuzyn os. tato had done much to improve die thoroughfare. Tho junction, however, of the road with the Or-nngi-Kaupapa mad, as modified, was unsuitable, and ho recommended that a workable foot-track he constructed loading from the Oinngi liaupapa road to join the Garden road above .Mr Gape’s quarry. Provided the land included in the present formation ami such land as lav 10 the north-westward (to insure a proper width of the roadway being maintained'. lie dedicated ho saw no reason, why tho roadway should not be approved subject to six months’ maintenance and" the usual security being held by the borough. Residents of Katipapa road. Northland, presented a jnotition bringing before Iho Council the urgent necessity for steps being taken to cope with me drainage, which was being dealt with in an unsatisfactory manner.
