FENCING IN THE HARBOUR.
(To the Editor "N.Z. Times.”) Sir,—Tile thanks of the rowing and boating dubs an well as the citizens atlarge are due to tho deputation headed by Mr H. D. Bell, which waited on tho Harbour Board to molest against 10 moval of lowing dub site. It is tim« some pno interfered on the city's behalf ifi the matter of its harbour. Very soon the dwellers in tho city will have to travel miles out before. they can get a, glimpse of tho sea. Xot alone are they fepced off in tho city, but tho barricade,v are being extended towards the suburbs in Oriental Bay. I know some places in which tho barricades would bo found at tho bottom not at the approaches to. the harbour some fine morning. These precautions might do in Russian ports, but they will not suit a British public.. Hoping the people, assisted by its) newspapers, will keep this matter steadily in view.—l am, etc,, SEA-DOG. October 30th.
