The U.S. and A. cargo steamer Capo Breton, which arrived at Auckland on Monday morning from New "York* sailed from Auckland last night, and is expected to reach Wellington on Friday morning. The vessel has about 10U0 tons of cargo for Wellington. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company arc the local agents. Tho U.S. and A. ’cargo steamer Capo Corso was to have sailed from New York on 'Wednesday last for Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand ports. , Under date of September 21st the American ship Tillio El Starbuck, which was to load case oil at New York for Wellington, was quoted for re-insurance at 15 per cont. The vessel had left Honolulu on April 31st for Delaware Breakwater with sugar. The Government steamer Tutanekai, which sailed early yesterday morning for the Brothers lighthouse and Cape Palliser lighthouse arrived back last night, and is to sail probably to-night or tomorrow for tho round trip to the northern lighthouses. Tho collier Rosamond is to leave Greymouth afc noon to-day with a full load of coal for the State Mines Department at AVcllington. It is expected that tho Rosamond will go on the patent slip at ; Wellington next Monday. Tho Arahnra, from Wellington via way ports, arrived at Greymouth yesterday morning anl was to have sailed on the return trip at 10 o'clock last night. It ie understood that Captain J. E. Croker will join tho new steamer Blenheim ns mate. The Blenheim to make her first run to-night to Blenheim, leaving Wellington at midnight. Air M. McConvillo, a very old servant of the Union Company, who has occupied the position of engineer of the company's Gisborne tender for many years, ha© re- 1 tired from the service. Mr Baldwin, late of tho cargo steamer Waipori, has been transferred to the Kittawa a« second officer. Mr Ross, who has been acting second officer of the Waipori, returns to his position of third officer. Mr Mirirhead, who was acting third officer, goes to Dunedin for orders. The schooner Joseph Sims sailed from Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon with a cargo of produce for Wellington. TUB RUAPEHU. The Now Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruapehu, which arrived at Auckland on Friday last from London, via Hobart, is under command of Captain F. Mayoss, K.N.8., and following are tho officers;—Chief, Mr N, De La Cour Cornwall, R.N.R.: second, Mr A. M. Ponton-Ford, R.N.R.; third, Air M. Partner; fourth, Mr S. F. Air Wood, T.he Ruapehu is to leave Auckland at 5 o’clock this morning for Wellington, where she is duo on Friday about daybreak. The Ruapehu will sail from Wellington about Alouday or Tuesday next for Lyttelton, from which port she will proceed for Homeward loading to Timaru, Gisborne, Napier, Lyttelton, and back to Wellington. Tho vessel is to sail from Wellington for London on the 23rd instant.
