HARBOUR BOARD.

Messrs William Cable (chairman), H. Beauchamp, F. Townsend, W. Wood, O. E. Dnniell, and James McLellan were present at tho monthly meeting of the Wellington Harbour Boards held yesterday afternoon. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs F. H. Fraser and T. K. Macdonald.

The following is a statement of tho Harbour Board’s finances for tho month:—Bank books—Current account, credit balance, £3063 13s Id; imprest account, credit balance, £332 8s 9cl; on fixed deposit, £IB,OOO. Payments for accounts and wages, £12,512 19s Gd; for progress and final on contracts, £6057 5s Id; for salaries for October, £759 15s 7d; £19,330 0s 2d. The chairman reported—(l) That the tender of Mr Charles F. Pulley for the sura of £248-1 11s 4d for contract No. 135. for tho extension of tho southern end of the Jervois quay breastwork staging and tho construction of a cart approach thereto, being the lowest and in order, had been accepted and the contract signed, with Messrs E. C. E. Mills and J. F. W. Mills as sureties. (2) That the engineer had made suitable arrangements with Messrs J. and W. Faulkner, of Dunedin, for the erection of an instalment of the gates and railings required.—The report was adopted. Tho Wharves and Accounts Committee recommended the Board :—(1) To affix the seal to a foreshore license for a boat-shed at Worsen Bay to Messrs C. S. Cording and 0. Petley, the plans having been received from the Marino Department, approved by tho Oovornor-in-Council. (2) That tenders be called, closing at the January meeting, for 186 tons of cut and punched steel hoops and for 11 tons studs.
