DONT'S FOR WORKING GIRLS
Don't expect draTring-room courtesies m tlio work-room or office. Don’t expect too many favours. The average employer is ready to sometimes grant a reasonable request. One reason that some firms object to employing women is that these women do not always fool thq seriousness of business affairs.
Don’t bo afraid to make concessions now and then. In extraordinarily busy seasons do not expect extra pay for every unusual 1 thing demanded of yeu. Quite likely you have been paid for many a day’s work when business was slack, yet your wages were not cut. To these we would add a whisper in. the car of the girl who works. •Don’t forget to keep in yoirr place as, a subordinate. Do not take on yourself to advise or criticise your employer. One girl stenographer I knew lost a good situation because of satirically commenting on her employer’s spelling and stylo of expression when she looked over the notes ha gave her to write out.
