THE SALVATION ARMY HOMES

(To the Editor "N.Z. Times.”) Sir, —Might I ask you, on behalf of the Women and Children’s Homes in Wellington, to convey, through your columns, my most sincere thanks to the many ic.nd friends who contributed towards the Christmas cheer. In each of the institutions a time of enjovment and profit was spent during the holidays and many sad hearts were made glad. Christmas Day was kept on Saturday, when the homes were very prettily decorated. Besides the special dinner, meetings etc., some useful gift was given to each inmate, and at the Maternity and Children's Homes there were also Christmas trees laden with toys, etc. Before closing I should aleo like to thank yon for your kind oourtsey in inserting my appeal.— I am, etc., JAMES GILMOUB, Lient.-CoTonel. Christchurch, 29th December.
