ROWING.
At a meeting of tho Club Race Committee of the Star Boating Club considerable alterations were made to tho programme of club races. It was decided to strike out the Novice Fairs, and make a scratch race of the Ladies’ lours, all the heats of which will be rowed on tho 19th of November, when tho committee hope to see a largo attendance of lady friends of tho duo. w ith a view to affording greater opportunity for early coaching, moro time will be given to training for the first two races—the Senior and Junior Fours—entries for which close ou tho 36th September. The committee recommend that tho trophy left to tho club by tho late Mr G. H. Bethune, its former captain, bo allotted as an additional prize for tho Maclean Fours to be rowed in March next. This should do much to sustain interest to the end of the season.
