(From Our Own Correspondent.)' Monday. A two (lavs’ bazaar is to take place hero in nid’ot the funds of St. Alarka Church on September 27th and -Sth. Besides sales of various works amusements of many kinds will be,included in tho programme. Mr Robert Buckridge, of the Club Hotel, has disposed of his interest in that hostlery to Air J. M illiamson, of Christchurch. The new proprietor will lake possession on the 12th instant. Tho final match of the Featherston Gun Club was held on Saturday afternoon ter the championship shield and was won by Air Fenwick. Mr O. Burt won , tho trophy presented by Mr Cundy. Shearing, in a few instances, has commenced, but the sheep shorn are chiefly for show purposes. Mrs T. W. Sparks, junr., who is leaving for Wellington, was on Saturday night presented by the residents of Belvedere with a gold brooch and biscuit barrel. Air Kempton, in an appropriate speech, made the presentation, referring to Airs Sparks’s willingness, at ail times, to assist in any work she was asked to do. Air McPhee also spoke highly of Airs Sparks’s many capabilities, and regretted her departure. The following is the Carterton Hockey team to play Waiwetu (Hutt) here on Thursdayßannin, Fisher (2), King, Perrin, Eaton, Feist, Bunny (2), Liudop, Phillpotts.. . ■
