HOCKEY.
LADIES’ HOCKEY TOURNAMENT. The Kiwi and Raukura (Hutt) representatives, who could only manage to bring off a draw cm Thursday, played off ab Day's Bay yesterday morning on 1. rain-soaked ground. Added to this, the match was played in. pouring rain, and the girls were sopped to the skin by the time the game finished. The game was much in favour of Kiwi, who pressed almost continuously. Hiss Henderson, one of the most energetic of Kiwi’s front line, scored, but despite repeated efforts, the city team was unable to better this, principally on acrount of the excellent defence work of Hiss Jackson at goal. The game ended in a win for Kiwi by one goal to nil. Hisses Edwin (captain), Henderson, Fitzgerald and Becker played well for Kiwi, and Hisses Humfrey, Eoster, ■Jackson, and Matthews wore conspicuous for good play in the Raukura ranks. THE FINAL. The final for the championship of the tournament now rests between the two Wellington teams—Aorangi and Kiwi. This match will bo played at Day’s Bay Ott Honday afternoon, and should induce » large attendance of the public. TO-DAY’S FIXTURE. There is a double-barrelled attraction at Day’s Bay this afternoon. On No. X ground the final match of the men srhampionship will bo played between the United and Wellington teams. The girls’ representative match, between teams picked from local and visiting teams will bo played on No. 2 ground, steamers are to leave the city wharf wb 1.13 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. The Wellington Steam Ferry Company will run extra steamers to Day’s Bay to-day in connection with, the tournament.
