Professor-Birkeland, the famous rirrwegiau inventor, says "Science Siftings,” has discovered a remarkable method of preparing agricultural fertilisers troni the air. He obtains his results by the use of electric arcs, which attracts the nitrogenous elements necessary for use in compounds intended for manure. Professor Birkeland has formed a company and acquired a large tract of land situated near a -waterfall which will provide the necessarv power for producing this new chemicai manure. The professor is already well-known to as the inventor of the electro-magnetic gun, and much benefit is looked for from his latest invention.
