“MAORI LORE.”
(To the Editor “N.Z. Times.”) Sir.—ln a criticism in yesterday’s “Times” of a hook called “Maori Loro,” by James Izett, you ask. “AVhat do men like Mr Percy Smith, Mr Tregear, Mr Elsdon Best, Mr C. E. Nelson. Captain Mail*. Mr Ngata think of it?” Knowing the minds of all these men well on such a subject, I answer for them, as for myself, in one sentence, namely:—There are no words in the English language fit to render the scorn ,wo feel towards this parody of Maori Tradition.—l am, etc., EDWARD TREGEAR. June 22nd.
