MELBOURNE, June 2.

The. Secretary of the Post Office, commenting on the desire of the Oceanic Company to be relieved of carrying mails, points out that the company is compelled to carry mails as long as the steamers trade at Australian ports. Clearance could, he says, be refused to any vessel declining to carry mails.
