TE ARO RAILWAY.

(To tho Editor "N.Z. Times.") Sir.—■ Although I have great respect for Mr Ferguson's .ability, I venture to think" he is wrong in supposing Te Aro Railway Station can’he done away with when the electric trams start funning. I don’t think they will cater for carrying people’s baggage to the .Tuomdon or t-ne Manawatu Railway Station any more than the first tram in 'the morning dees at the present 'moment, to ho up-to-date, why doesn’t the Government give the Manawatu Company running powers over the lino to To Are? It would be a great convenience to most of tne travellers who lire "at T'o Aro and Newtown. Railways are supposed to he run for the convenience of the .public, bnt in this matter it is not so, and the bother and inconvenience of dragging oneself and baggage right from one end of tho city to the other would not be tolerated in any American city "a single week. This matter should ho taken up by tue Chamber of Commerce. In the meantime conld you explain to myself and many others at this end of the city why the two companies do not approacn one another in this subject? There seemed to be no trouble, when the concision was granted for the comfort of tho public, in running the trains through from .Loughurn to Palmerston; so way can’t the same convenience be granted here?—l am, etc., COMMERCIAL TRAVELLER.
