STAB BOATING CLUB. The concluding heats in connection with the Fitzgerald Fours were rowed last Saturday afternoon on the Ngahaurangn. foreshore with the following results;— 13. Pickering (stroke). H. S. Barron (3). W. H. Warren (2), E. Weston' (bow) scored an easy win from R. Pownall (stroke). W. Harrington (3). H. White (2). .1. W. Minifie (bow). F. A. Barclay (stroke). A. M. Thomson (3), T. W. Brown (2), F. Snoad (bow) defeated By two lengths F. H. Taylor (stroke)., F. Alexander (3), N. D. Anderson (2). R. Waters (bow); and A. H. Johnstone' (stroke).. L. D- Whitcombe (3), H. B. Jacobs (2), .T. B. Epid (bow). The latter crew finished some lengths from Tavlor. Their chances, however, were nullified through bad steering. • A good struggle ensued in the final beat, but Pickering’s crew bayi-g the advantage of a crisp start caught the judge's flag a length, and a nuarter abend of the crciv stroked by Barclay. D. R. Mwzie* and J, B. Widdou (denuty captain) acted as -starter and- judge respectively. The stroke of the winning crew holds the 'j-'rihy tou-’d-'d in memory of the late Mr William Fitzgerald, a former captain of the club. The following crews, which have heen training assiduously for the past, few week?, will represent the club at the re-get'-as to be held during the Jiolidayn at Little Eiver (Christchurch) and P : etnn.
