An inquest concerning the death o! the sixteen-months-old son of Sir William James Jonee. of Douglas Wallaoa street, was held at the hospital yesterday morning before Mr Alex. Simpson, Acting-Coroner. Tim mother stated in or I den co that she was preparing to bath the baby, who was out , in the yard, and she poured a kottleful of hot water into the bath. Witness left the ..room for a moment, and while in tho scullery heard a scream. On rushing into the room she found the unfortunate child in the bath. It was a mystery to. her bow ho got so quickly from the yard into tho room. Dr Elliott deposed that the child was very severely scalded, and. death was duo to shock caused thereby. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
