A fire occurred at Papawai on Tuesday morning, when a stable belonging to lamahau Mahnnuku was destroyed. A mare worth £3O end a drag worth JC2 wero burned. The building was uninsin cd. and was valued at .£7O. An old house of eleven rooms, used ,?• ° barn for fed dor. the uronortv of N’orman of South was burned dntvrs on Tuesday n’erir*' between 9 and 70 n ’elock. The ‘nolfce received information (hat about tbirtv tons of hay and chaff, a reaper and binder, a mower, and other machinery stored in the building were totally destroyed. The building was insured for .£2OO in the Standard Office, Sir Hodder estimates his loss at £3OO.
