(Received July 21. 9.20 p.m.) LONDON, July 31. During the last decade thirty-four per cent of would-be army recruits in Britain have been rejected as medically unfit,.in addition to a large number of candidates who were not even examined on account of being obviously unfit. The cause of the rejection was poor physique. The Director-General of the Army suggests the appointment of a commission to inquire into the causes of the decline and into the best means to improve the national health.
