Sailed—Dingadce (5.10 p.m.), for Wellington, On her last visit to Wellington about a fortnight ago the coastal steamer Jano Douglas whiiDt berthed at the Queen’s Wharf was bumped on the starboard quarter by the launch Waitara. The Jane Douglas made water on the run down to West port and 110 cases of blasting powder wede damaged. A survey of the Jane Douglas showed that the frame was split inside, an angle iron split and the heads knocked off some of the rivets. The matter was the subject of a preliminary inquiry by the Collector of Customs on Saturday, and further evidence will be heard to-day. The Mcliwraith. McEacharu and Co.’s cargo .steamer .Kooringa arrived in the stream at 6 o'clock last night from Newcastle. She brings 150,000 ft of timber and 1000 tons of coal to be discharged at Wellington for the Union Company. She will bo berthed at 8 o’clock this morning at No. 5 Glasgow Wharf, and on completing the* discharge of the AVollingiou cargo proceeds with remainder of cargo to Timam Tlio Tyscr lino chaptered steamer Onvba, from New York via Auckland, arrived early yesterday morning and berthed at No. 14, Queen’s Wharf, The coastal steamer Toroa left Lyttelton yesterday afternoon with 70 tons of produce for AVellingtou. The Rotoiti was placed on the patent slip at midday yesterday. She will be brought off to-morrow. The Union Company’s steamer Moeraki, winch sailed from Sydney at 2.20'p.m. oil Saturday for Wellington direct, brings 67 saloon and 75 steerage passengers for Wellington, and will discharge 800 tons of cargo at this port. She is due before midday to-morrow. The New Zealand and African Steamship Company’s steamer Cornwall arrived at Fremantle yesterday on route ; from AVellingtori to ■South Africa. The Pukaki is being overhauled at Port Chalmers. The To Anau was "floated out of the graving dock at Port Chalmers on Saturday after being cleaned and painted. The barqueutiiic Kougsbyrd, which arrived at Kainam last Tuesday after a passage of eighteen days, had a tempestuous voyage from Wellington. Captain Gottke writes that it blew for a fortnight from the westward. After getting to windward of Stephen Island (six days out) the jibboom carried away, and the Kongsbyrd ran Bay to effect repairs. AVhile there the vessel rode out two north-westerly gales, both anchors being down. After anchoring for six days the vessel was once again got under way.
