~ Anxiety is felt at Rome in regard to the state of the Pope’s health. Twelve millions will be spent by the Canadian Government in the construction of a new railway. The resolution forming the basis of the Naval Works Bill has been agreed to by the House of Commons. The junior representative Rugby match Wellington v, Manawatu, played on Saturday, ended in a draw. A deputation waited on the Premier on Saturday in regard to an increased grant for building Victoria College. It is said that Britain and Japan have declared that China must demand the immediate evacuation of Manchuria by Russia. Hr P. Bradey. the chairman of the Wellington Education Board, mv.de a statement at Levin on Saturday in regard to the Board’s finances.
