Parliament was engaged yesterday in discussing the Address-in-Keply. It is reported that there are fifty-two Russian ivarships at Port Arthur. A hundred and seventy-five persons killed in a mine in Wyoming, Tho subject of preferential trade was discussed at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce. A meeting of Unionist freetraders in England criticised Mr Chamberlain’s fiscal, proposals. A case involving an interpretation of the licensing law was before the Court of Appeal yesterday. Among the questions discussed at last night’s meeting of the City Council was that of tho city rates. Bulgaria has issued a note to the Powers in which Turkey is blamed for thwarting tho efforts to pacify the Macedonians.
