A sensation has beou caused in politi'Sil circles over the ro-arrangemeut of portfolios in the State Ministry, consec [uont on Mr Reid’s election to the fod'oral Senate and the resignation of Sir MoKonzio as Minister for Lands. Under the now arrangement tho number of Ministers has boon reduced from nine to seven, tie number fixed by the Reform Rill. Mr Davies, tho SolicitorGcno. ral, now becomes Minister for Education in place of Mr Rcici, tho Premier (Mr Jr vino) taking over tho SolicitorGencr alsbip. Mr Bent retains office as Mi ouster of Railways and has also been gj-von tho Health Department. Mr Tavern or takes tho portfolio of Lands in addition to Agriculture. Surprise is expressed that Mr McKenzie has Iboon excluded from tho Ministry before tike committee appointed to inquire in to tbo charges of land jobbery against Him has made its report.
