A NEW INTER-COLONIAL STEAMER.
(Received February 3, 11.52 p.m.) LONDON, February 3. , . Tho Union Steam Ship Company of Now Zealand has ordered from Messrs William Denny and Bros., of Dumbarton, a sister ship to the Moeraki. DUNEDIN, February 3. Tho Union StcarA Ship Company has disposed of several of its older boats, with a view to replacing them by new purchases. Several sales have been effected to buyers in tho East. It is said that the Waihora, Rotorua, Upolu and Janet Nkoll are among the vessels sold. Tho company lias made arrangements for tho purchase in England of a now cargo steamer, to ho called tho Kakapo, of 2500 tons, which is expected at the end of March. An order has also been given for a similar steamer to tho Moeraki, to ho delivered in tho colony in time for tho summer passenger season. Captain Cameron will supervise tho building of the now steamer at- Home.
