THE NATIONALISTS.

THEIR ATTITUDE ON THE EDUCATION DILL. LONDON, December* 1. Mr Redmond declares that the abstention of the Nationalists from the debates on tho Education Dill helped the Government, compelling its supporters to keep a strong House. Ho has ordered tho Nationalists to bo ready to vote :f the Lords’ amendments in the Dill mako it worse from a Catholic standpoint. Mr William O’Brien, member for Cork City, speaking at Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, defended the attitude of tho Nationalists on tho Education Dill, and blamed Cardinal Vaughan’s unfortunate letter (urging the Irish members to support tho Dill), for provoking obnoxious -amendments. Nationalist and Catholic demonstrations at tho present stage would, Mr O’Brien said, cause tho Lords to rigidly adhere to tho measure.
